A specialist service for Australian NDIS providers.
Built by an Australian engineer who's spent his career building production software. First Practice is the side venture - but the engineering bar is the day-job standard.
About the founder.
I'm Liam - a Perth-based engineer with a software engineering and computer science background, who's spent the last several years building production AI systems and the cloud infrastructure they run on.
I started First Practice after realising the same kind of engineering that powers serious enterprise platforms could deliver a genuinely good website to a sole-trader NDIS support worker for the price of a couple of takeaway dinners a month. Most agencies build websites by hand and price accordingly. We build them with care and pricing that makes a side venture in your first year of practice realistic.
What I bring.
- Production-grade engineering - the same standards that keep enterprise systems online apply to your site.
- Australian-built, Australian-hosted - your data stays here, your support is in your timezone.
- A genuine interest in the NDIS sector - I'm doing the customer research, joining the communities, and treating this as a serious build, not a side hustle to flip.
Why First Practice exists.
Most Australian NDIS sole-traders end up with one of three options when they need a website: a freelancer who's slow and expensive, an agency who's slower and even more expensive, or a DIY platform like Wix that requires them to become a web designer in their spare time.
None of those options give them what they actually need - a complete, professional, accessible website that covers their services and suburbs, that complies with NDIS Commission rules, and that's there when a participant family googles them or a Support Coordinator looks them up.
First Practice exists to be that fourth option. A subscription service that delivers in 48 hours what most agencies take three weeks to deliver. No setup fee. No lock-in. Built so that being a new sole-trader doesn't mean settling for a generic, mediocre online presence.
What we believe.
01
Compliance isn't optional.
The 2026 NDIS Commission anti-promotion powers carry penalties up to $82,500 per breach. A website that doesn't keep its customers compliant is a liability, not an asset. We build our compliance ruleset into every page we produce.
02
Accessibility isn't marketing.
WCAG 2.2 AA verified means the people you're serving can actually use your site. We run automated and manual audits on every site before publish. It's the right thing to do, and it's also the difference between a Support Coordinator trusting your professionalism or not.
03
Bespoke, not templated.
We don't reuse a template for every customer. Each site is built from scratch for that practice's services, suburbs, brand, and the way they talk about their work. The engineering bar is the same standard I apply to the production platforms I build by day.
04
Your domain stays yours.
If you cancel, the domain comes with you. We're not in the business of holding your online presence hostage.
05
You own the site after 12 months.
Most subscription web services lock you in by owning the code. We do the opposite. Stay with us for a year and the entire site - design, code, content - is yours outright. Take it elsewhere or carry on with us; either way, it's yours.
06
Transparent pricing.
Three tiers, posted publicly. No "starting from" weasel words. No hidden setup fees. You see the price; you pay the price.
07
Providers get the credit.
Our customers' websites don't carry our brand. No "Built by First Practice" footer. No badges. You're the practice; the site is yours.
Every NDIS provider's website needs to win two audiences.
Most provider websites are built for one audience: participants and families. Plain language, friendly photos, contact form at the bottom. That's necessary - but it's not enough.
The Support Coordinators who refer roughly 40% of NDIS participants don't read a provider's site looking for warm fuzzies. They read it to answer one question: can I confidently refer one of my participants here? They need to see clinical detail, service depth, specialisation signals, location coverage, and credibility cues that aren't on most provider websites.
So we build two layers into every site we deliver. The participant-facing layer with plain-language pages, accessibility, contact paths. And the referrer-facing layer with the kind of detail Support Coordinators are actually looking for. Most competitors skip this. We don't. It's why our customers' sites win referrals other sole-traders miss.
